The boho home and atelier of a Swedish artist & florist

I'm kind of loving the 'home visits' by Lovely Life right now. The way they capture homes is so natural and raw - almost like the owner has been caught off guard. The latest home belongs to Swedish artist and florist Marie Emilsson, Mikke and three year old Loui in the Lovely Life playground of Varberg on Sweden's west coast. When it comes to decorating, Marie gets her inspiration from nature, auctions, travel and meeting other people. Flowers and foliage are brought in from the garden year round to keep the space looking fresh and seasonal (spot the rhubarb in a vase). Let's take a tour of Marie's lovely life...

Styling: Johanna Bradford. Photo: Kristin Lagerkvist with thanks

What a lovely home, don't you think? Relaxed, unique and full of inspiration- black and white photos arranged on a gallery wall, painted and wallpapered accent walls, and many vintage finds. I also absolutely love the Loui's room with the owl wallpaper and ants painted on the floor - what a fab idea?!

One of Marie's biggest passions is her garden,  which you can see more of here

Could you live here? I certainly could! I'm often toying with the idea of moving out to the country, even just for a year or two. How about you? Do you live in the town or country?

The stylist Johanna Bradford and photographer Kristin Lagerkvist behind these pics are such a talented duo - see Johanna's former homes here and here and current home here and Kristin's home here. As well as the whimsical home of Sophia Bratt which they captured here. What a team?!

Have a lovely day!

PS Thank you so much to Sarah (who I met at The Hive in Berlin) for featuring me on her fab blog yesterday!

Tamsin Flower's cheerful London home

There's one thing I'm low on at home; rugs. I find them the hardest thing - not only are they a big investment but they can also make a huge impact on a room (i.e. I simply can't make up my mind!). That's why I felt so inspired when I came across Tamsin Flower's lovely, colourful London home. Tamsin is the UK arm of Beldi rugs (with business partner Emma Wilson on the ground in Morocco), an online shop selling beautiful unique, hand-crafted vintage Moroccan rugs. Tamsin's home is packed with mid-century, retro and flee market finds which she's collected over the years. She also has plenty of statement Moroccan rugs too (obviously!), which add a cheerful pop of colour around every corner! Perfect inspiration for the weekend, don't you think?!

It's amazing what a difference these beautiful rugs make to a room, don't you think?!

I also spy: Lucky Boy Sunday cushions. Mid-century furniture similar to Tamsin's here! And, of course, there's those rugs from Beldi Rugs.

I love the black board on the back of the kitchen island - such a smart idea and perfect for keeping a little one occupied while trying to whip up lunch?!

Tamsin's business partner Emma lives in Essaouira, Morrocco and rents out stunning award winning properties such as Dar Beida, two hours from Marrakech - imagine kicking back here for a week?! Just. So. Fab. I think a holiday is in order....

Thank you so much to interiors and lifestyle photography - Sisters Agency for the kind permission to share these images.  I am such a big fan of their images - do you remember this rustic Norwegian cabin - a far cry from this London home but stunning in an entirely different way.

Are you up to anything fun this weekend? I'm heading to the Malmö flower show with my girls and we're also digging up our entire back yard to create a little outdoor haven - I hope I can share it with you once it's finished. In the meantime I'm taking my inspiration from this board.

Have a wonderful couple of days!

PS Don't forget that you can get 20% off any item over at Lo+Behold this weekend (yay!).

A beautiful vintage industrial home and café

What happens when you combine two foodies, South of France style, North American charm and a Michelin-starred chef? The wonderful café Maman, that's what!  Elisa Marshall and Benjamin Sormonte had been living and working in various places around the globe including France and Ibiza before taking over a former machinery shop in SoHo, New York. The pair left the tin ceilings, exposed brickwork walls and original 1920s flooring untouched and added vintage and antique furniture to maximise charm. They also installed an industrial window so that guests can watch Michelin-starred chef Armand Arnal in action. Oh how I could drop in there now and wile away a morning?! Their six-floor loft in nearby Tribeca is pretty beautiful too and follows the same industrial vintage style - but with a touch of romance - think florals, sheer curtains and pipes painted in gold. Let's take a peek inside the Sormonte-Marshall household and café Maman....

What a world they've created? Just beautiful, don't you think?

A few notes on where items in the home are from in case you're interested: vintage letters, dresser found on Krrb / bar cart, table and chairs found at Brooklyn Flea, plant pot from Anthropologie, hanging plant holders.

Two fab DIY ideas to steal- Marshall and Sormonte collected Pez dispensers, sprayed them gold and framed them - such a nice idea. The sofa  / day bed was made from pallets (see a step by step guide here).

You can read more about the home and café here

Oh and there were lots of questions about where the throw was from in this Swedish home on Monday - and now I have the answer, yay! (thanks lovely anonymous commenter!!) You can find more details in the post if you're interested.

Got to rush off as I have a V.V.V.I.P guest arriving from London tonight - my Mum! There's a bed to be made, a bar to be stocked and some recipes to be whipped up (if only I had the helping hand of Armand Arnal!), go, go, go!

Have a lovely day!

A dreamy white home packed with antiques

Floaty white linens, doors re-fashioned into tables and headboards, garden furniture used indoors, a vintage ice cream cone mould upcycled into a bell and fresh flowers around every corner. Welcome to the idyllic world of Maria Carr of blog/shop Dreamy Whites. Maria's home is a horse ranch in Northern California which she shares with her husband and five children. Let's take a peek.

All photos: Dreamy Whites. Also inspired by a post by Stephmodo

Wow!!! I feel like I've been to heaven and back (or at least to the French countryside and back), how about you?!

These pictures are a collection from her past and present home as well as a garden exhibition. If you'd like to explore more of Maria's world you might want to follow her on instagram, or take a peek at her latest wedding editorial and have a scroll around her beautiful blog.

Similar items from Maria's home can be found in her shop. The garage shutters have been painted in Farrow & Ball Manor House grey.

More beautiful outdoor inspiration for your garden: here (what a setting for a balmy evening with friends?), Swedish countrystyle garden and eating alfresco. Roll on the summer!

Have a lovely, dreamy day!
