A Skåne apartment with a lovely autumn feel

Hello October! What a lovely month. One of my favourites in fact, how about you? These images, by the very talented Skåne duo Emma  Persson Lagerberg (stylist) and Petra Bindel (photographer) have been doing the blog rounds lately. I first spotted the feature in Swedish department store Åhléns's magazine last month. The way this beautiful apartment has been designed and styled perfectly sums up the Autumn mood don't you think? I especially love the green, grey and brass theme in the sitting room and the kitchen's pretty cool too?!

Oh so beautiful. Is this your kind of style?

You can see more examples of spaces Petra has photographed herehere and here.

If you find yourself in Sweden (or Norway) definitely pop into an Åhlens, they have such a great home-ware and women's clothes section selling fabulous Swedish fashion labels such as Hope, Filippa K and Acne.

Have a lovely day!

White Swedish apartment with great art

This Gothenburg apartment caught my eye this morning, it's just what I'm in the mood for! White wood floors, fun artwork, beautiful arched windows and a standard hydrangea in the bedroom - why not?! I could work all day from that table by the window, how about you?!

Stadshem with thanks
I see a few lovely items including: the G playtype print, HAY tray table and DLM (Don't Leave Me) table, Thonet 214 chair, Sheepskin rug, HAY dot hallingdal cushion. Find vintage industrial pendant lamps on etsy. Hmmm, what else, what else?!

Could you pad around here today?

Have a lovely day!

A black, beige and pink Stockholm apartment

Hello! I hope you had a great weekend? I thought I'd start the week with this very cool apartment in Stockholm designed by Pella Hedeby and Marie Ramse  (you must check out their blogs!) for JM. The clean lines and black, grey and a hint of beige /light pink colour palette have been used to highlight the beautiful architecture (by Gert Wingårdh) and create a serene feel. I particularly love the colour on the walls in the sitting room and in the children's bedroom, how about you? And what do you think of the black walls in the bedroom? I think they're kind of striking.

The children's bedroom palette reminds me a lot of a top from Stockholm based brand Mini Rodini my little girl tried on at the weekend (so cute!).

Could you live here?

This weekend my family and I visited Kungsbygget which is about an hour's drive away here in Southern Sweden. The countryside was stunning (there's a pic of our bbq spot on instagram). Kungsbygget has a 1 km zipline (terrifying but so much fun!!) and a summer bobsled run which my girls absolutely loved. If you're ever in this area I can highly recommend it, it's such a fun place. In the winter it's open for skiing too. Do you have anything like that near where you live?

Have a wonderful Monday!

A relaxed family home in the Australian countryside

The weekend calls for a super relaxed home where you feel you can just kick off your shoes and be completely yourself doesn't it?! So today I'd like to share this laid back, retro family home in the Australian countryside with you. The owners photographer Jessica Tremp and Michael Madden and child Syd only moved in a few months ago but they've already put their personal stamp on the space. Art (mainly by Jessica's father), big leafed plants, yellow accent colours and mid century teak furniture make up the look. There's something that feels incredibly warm about this lovely family home don't you think?

Is there anything you particularly love about this home?

Yesterday I started an evening class in interior design. The aim of the course is to learn how to plan a room from scratch. We spent the evening creating mood boards: ripping pictures out of magazines (interior, fashion and nature) which we felt had the right 'feel' whether they were of a bird, a lamp or a skirt flowing in the wind and sticking them onto an A3 board. The result amazed me. The colours and feel of the room bounced from the board and I could really see the embryo of my new room. So exciting! I can definitely recommend this process to you if you're planning on re-decorating a room in your home.  More tips from next week's session....

I hope you have a great weekend and see you Monday!

The fabulous black and white home of Dutch blogger

Following the success of yesterday's 'blogger home tour' post I thought I'd show the fabulous home of another blogger today. I've actually shown parts of Desiree's (of Vosges Paris fame) Dutch home before here. But recently Holly Marder has been in to take pictures from another angle for SOFFA magazine . And what fabulous shots they are! Here's a selection from Desiree's oh so cool black and white kitchen, sitting room and bedroom. Enjoy!

Thank you to Holly and Desiree for the kind permission to share. You can read more about the home here.

I had the pleasure of meeting Holly a few months back when she came to style my home for a shoot (photos available for purchase here). She's such a talented stylist and photographer!

Could you do black and white throughout your home? I like to use it as a base for all my decorating.

Have a lovely day!

The cool home of a Norwegian blogger

I follow a lot of blogs. I mean a lot of blogs. In fact you can see the list, which is as long as my arm, on my blogger profile (do you have any you can add to this?). I have a special weakness for Finnish and Norwegian interior blogs. One of which is designlykke- do you know this Norwegian interior design blog? If not, it's definitely worth a look. Henrietta lives in Oslo with her husband, Sigmund and two little boys Kasper (4) and Oskar (2) in a beautiful home which she captures almost daily on her blog. Here's a sneak peek.

Stunning isn't it?! I especially love the art work, Anything stand out in particular to you?

You can see more pictures of Henrietta's home here

I've shown a few Norwegian blogger home tours here before, but in case you missed them it's worth taking a look at Elisabeth Heier's beautiful home and the fabulous walk in wardrobe  and home of Nina of Stylizimo blog.

I'm not sure if you've noticed my new 'product pick of the week' on the right. I never show product pictures in my posts (unless I'm holding a give-away) but wanted to showcase products I really love in some way. This week's choice is the yellow bagINbag by Finnish company Insjö. They are currently offering free shipping on all items from now until September 30th with the code IKIN. Good to know!

Have a lovely day!

A serene white and grey home

I love a whites and light grey palette. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea (is it yours?) but isn't there something so calm and serene about this space? I particularly love the home office area with the architects desk and string shelving. So lovely. I could pad around here for the day, how about you?!

Stadshem

Oooo, this apartment really is like a breath of fresh air!

A few tips on where to source the items seen in this home: String shelving. For a mid-century side-cupboard try Lauritz, Sheepskin rugs and lovely dove grey linen bedding.

More white and grey home inspiration here, here and here.

Have a lovely day!

PS thank you for all your supportive comments yesterday about my obsession with the weather, great to hear I'm not the only one!
